Playful Weekend

The weekend was spent enjoying the company of our family of four.  Saturday, we had a lazy morning at the house.  After the boys' naps, we went downtown.  We window-shopped, took a long walk, and ended up in Gratz Park.  Elliott and Isaac enjoyed playing with leaves and grass.  I, of course, enjoyed taking pictures of them!

Saturday story time with Daddy

The boys discovered the fun of the upstairs hallway!

And discovered how to stand up in bed!

So, on Sunday morning, we awoke to this...

Yes, the trouble is just beginning!

Welcome Home, Bob!

Yesterday, Bob returned to the United States and home to us!  We were all so happy to be reunited and to have him back safe and sound!!!

The boys kept an eye on every move Bob made, even from the "corral".

Since Bob was in China for his actual birthday, we surprised him with an inpromptu birthday party.  Elliott and Isaac gladly helped him open presents.  Elliott was very patient as Bob opened all of his gifts.  Isaac seemed to think Bob opened too slow, so after being patient for a few gifts, he opted to wiggle on Meme.

We ended the celebration by eating cake before supper!  Bob enjoyed his chocolate and butterscotch chip cake with chocolate frosting.  He said Betty Crocker was much better than the birthday cake he had in China!

Happy 32nd birthday, Bob!!
Welcome Home!

One more day!

We are anxiously awaiting Bob's return!  Less than 24 hours until he is home with us!  In anticipation of his arrival, we prepared a surprise tonight.  Someone was cooperative...

Someone was not...

We are ready to see our world traveler!

Artsy Sunday

We had a leisurely morning at home and enjoyed a yummy breakfast.  Isaac looks a little sleepy because both boys decided to wake up over an hour earlier than they normally do.  I guess they forgot it was the weekend.  Isaac also decided to wake up early from his nap today, so he had to help with chores!

What a cute laundry helper!

This afternoon, we went to the Woodland Art Festival.  Woodland Park was packed with many artists and exhibits.  I thought the boys might fall asleep on the long stroller ride, but there were too many interesting people to watch.

While we were eating, a beautiful little girl came to admire Elliott and Isaac.  Her name was Chessie and we found out she is the daughter of a nurse I used to work with at UK.  The boys loved watching her and she enjoyed tickling their feet.  They became fast friends as she scaled the stroller!

What a fun evening we had!  Both Elliott and Isaac were so happy and silly today.  We returned home and the boys practiced their chin-ups before bath time.  Elliott now has a few pieces of hair that are long enough to suds and swirl!

After Elliott's bath, the boys enjoyed some "natural" play time in the nursery.  I hope to post a video of this.  They were cracking each other up and us too!

Crawl away from the naked boy!

We miss Daddy!

This afternoon, I went to a wedding while the Elliott and Isaac played with Meme.  It was very strange to attend a wedding without Bob.  I really missed my dancing partner!  We attempted a picture before I left.  As one can see, Elliott was not interested in smiling and Isaac was distracted.  I am guessing this will continue to be a trend for many of our future photo sessions.  Mom snapped a few photos while I was gone.  Here are my favorites...

Silly Elliott!
Believe it or not, this is his laughing face!

Isaac is a super stander!
He has been pulling up, but last night he started standing more quickly and smoothly.

Finally Friday!

Whew, what a long week!  In preparation for Bob's trip, we purchased a light-weight stroller to help with transportation in and out of daycare.  Because of rain yesterday, today was our first test drive.

Before daycare...

After daycare..

Apparently Elliott was a very messy eater and needed a new outfit.

The best part of our day...a great connection with Bob!

It's Thursday

Elliott and Isaac were exhausted after daycare today.  They had an early bedtime tonight, but before bed we were able to take a few pictures...

Playtime before supper

Supper can be both stressful and silly!

Isaac had an eventful day at daycare.  He came home with not just one, but two incident reports!  His first "boo-boos".  He was standing both times, lost his balance, then fell into a bookshelf.  He now has a small cut on his upper lip and a bump/bruise on his forehead.  It is a little blurry, but below is the forehead boo-boo.

Last, I will close with the latest pictures of my sleeping angels.  I just cannot get enough of these precious, tired boys!

Good night!

There is nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby...

Except TWO sleeping babies!

Isaac and Elliott were in no mood to have their pictures made this evening, so I am posting a couple of photos from last night.  For the first time in several months, they did not sleep in their sleep sacs so I was able to capture their cute sleeping positions.  After a rough Tuesday, it warmed my heart to see these precious angels sleeping soundly!

One picture to sum up Tuesday...

Elliott has a fever and a rash from a mystery virus.  Isaac was very patient waiting with Meme while Elliott was visiting the doctor.  When we got home, he was decided his patience was wearing thin. Both grumpies wanted to snuggle with Mommy.  Hopefully everyone will sleep well and Wednesday will be a better day!
