Because the boys were exhausted after the party, we only removed a couple of toys from the packaging. We opened the remaining ones after they went to sleep and set them up as a surprise for the next morning. It looked somewhat like Christmas morning! Thanks to everyone for the fantastic gifts! The boys had so much fun playing with everything, they hardly stopped for breakfast!
They had to inspect every item!
Then, play with a "tractie" and "situar".
Then, take a rest break on their airplane and fire truck.
No day is complete without a little wrestle time!
Boy, were they excited! Both came running in the den, yelling "bike, bike"!
It did not take long before they were off!
After a tour through the kitchen, we decided to venture outside for a real bike ride! Isaac and Elliott were so fun to watch! They were so focused on their ride and looking around the neighborhood. It was almost as if they were seeing everything from a different perspective. I guess in a way they were...tricycle perspective as opposed to stroller perspective!
Isaac and Elliott mostly used the Fred Flintstone approach to move their tricycles, but they actually peddled a few times! Below a few photos from their first "bike ride"!
I tried to get a nice photo of each boy individually on their tricycle. There was a boat parked in the driveway behind me, so that was obviously very distracting!
The boys really enjoyed their first bike ride! They now say "bike ride" or "ride outside bike" daily on their way home from school. They love to talk about and go say "hi" to "outside bike" as the two tricycles now stay in the garage. Silly boys!
After a fun-filled day, we had Jewell twins choice for supper...ice cream and crackers! They ate as much ice cream as they wanted and dipped Ritz crackers in their bowls...a special post-birthday treat! No photos because Bob and I were both too busy enjoying this treat, too!
We ended the day with a bath. Somehow, Bob manages to bathe the boys with all of those toys in the tub!
This was yet another weekend spent with our precious boys, appreciating the small things! Speaking of small things...have you ever really appreciated how entertaining a washcloth can be?
Elliott and Isaac sure do!
