Happy New Year!
Or more appropriate for the Jewell household, Happy Sick Year!
On January 1st, Elliott and Isaac were diagnosed with the hand, foot, and mouth virus. Of course, our boys can never have a normal disease process--they had more of a hand, foot, mouth, spots-on-entire-body virus. Poor Elliott always gets hit the hardest when it comes to illnesses. At this time, this was the worst illness the boys had had, so we had to document. Our household was pretty miserable until the virus went away.
Nights were the worst. On one of Elliott's particularly restless nights, the only place he found comfortable was the den floor. As you can see, Cleo was very confused about his chosen sleeping spot. |
Elliott and Isaac were 15 months old! To date, our biggest challenge had been to keep them still long enough for a quick photo. Now, we have the added challenge of trying to keep the sticker on while keeping them in one spot! Who's idea was it again to do these silly pictures?? One guess...and it wasn't Bob!
Over Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, we went to Crossville, TN with the Jewells for a delayed Christmas gathering. That adventure will get a post of its own soon!
Isaac and Elliott had their 15-month check-ups with Dr. Parrott on January 17th. Their appointments went very well! Dr. Parrott confirmed that the cases of hand, foot, and mouth this year were the worst he had ever seen in his 19 years of practicing. Lucky Jewell twins! He really enjoyed watching the boys! He said they are on track developmentally and socially. He was impressed by the fact that, when told, they threw their tissues into the garbage can. He said he had never seen a child their age follow directions and do something like that. They have had lots of training with the constant runny noses!
Isaac's 15-month stats Weight: 22 pounds, 2.6 ounces Length: 31 inches Head circumference: 49 centimeters |
Elliott's 15-month stats Weight: 23 pounds, 12.8 ounces Length: 31 inches Head circumference: 48 centimeters |
We are rarely able to capture them signing on video, but were able to capture them signing a very important word...Daddy!
The rest of the month, the boys were just plain cute! Here's some proof...
Isaac and Elliott learned the joys of cooking and cleaning, and even combining the two activities! |
They became much more interested in books this month, which is a trend we hope will continue. |
Oh, the fun of wrestling was discovered...they wrestle anywhere and everywhere...even in the dog bed, even on those pesky, saggy jeans! |
See, I told you they were cute! All three of them! |
And a photo of our furrier twin boys, just as silly as our non-furries sometimes!
One more video before wrapping up. I like to call this one "Up Close and Personal with Elliott and Isaac".
