On June 2nd, the Jewell twins participated in the Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes event with several of Meghan's coworkers and Aunt Elizabeth. It was held at Keeneland Race Track. We thought it was going to be a leisurely walk similar to the Crohn's and Colitis walk, but it was actually quite a work out! We saw lots of friends there and enjoyed the beautiful morning!
Walking with coworkers, Leslie and Amy, Amy's daughter, Eliza, and Aunt E
We even saw horses running!
Potato chips are a special treat!
After the walk was over, we walked up to the race track. It was the first Keeneland adventure for Elliott and Isaac! We cannot wait to take them when the horses are actually racing!
Ready for the races!
The next day, the boys had a surprise waiting in the backyard--a water table! They played and played and played, dumping water out of the ship and even all over themselves! The love "boat boat"!
Serious boaters!
Isaac kept taking cups of water from the boat to Otto's bowl
Daddy was very brave letting them have control of the hose!
Some other fun pictures from June...
Wearing Daddy's slippers
Don't feed the animals!
First bubble bath...the boys love "bubbas"!
Story time with Daddy
Nothing says cool like wearing mismatched pj's with a paci, and your very own sunglasses!
(I hope the cute boy in the picture distracts from Bob's hairy arm!)
Sunglasses and a popped collar...now that's a cool dude!
Feeding Otto supper is a group activity
Father's Day weekend started off with a Father's Day Fiesta at Creation Kingdom on Friday, June 15th! Bob joined the boys and they all had a blast, enjoying father-son time and chips and salsa!
On Saturday we had a relaxing day around the house...
We call this fella the oatmeal walrus
Guest blogger?
Sunday, June 17th, was Father's Day! The boys got creative, coloring a picture for Daddy on the kitchen floor. After their creativity, we all enjoyed a breakfast of eggs and sausage. Bob requested an omelet so he received one nearly as big as his head!
To celebrate Bob, we spent the afternoon at the Bluegrass Railroad Museum in Versailles. We took an afternoon ride on an old train! The boys were so interested in everything...the train, the people, the trees along the track, and the cows. It was a great day experiencing Elliott and Isaac's very first train ride and Bob's first train ride in the United States, as well!
These faces don't quite reflect their excitement...I promise, they enjoyed it!
At the end of the line, we were able to get off the train and walk to High Bridge. It is scary to think that this bridge was never modified an no repairs were ever done and trains traveled over this bridge into the 1980s, over 100 years after it was built. Yikes! So glad traveling over it was not an option for us!
Next year, we may join the other kiddos and climb into the engine!
Can you tell I love pictures with all of my boys holding hands? Well, I sure do!
This bench is just right!
Elliott's lounged position cracks me up!
Isaac and Elliott turned 20 months old in June! We were a little tardy with our photo session and held it on Father's Day, too. A little silliness to end a very special family day!
This picture made me realize how much Isaac's hair is filling in now.
At least one Jewell Twin will keep his sticker on.
Well, maybe he will keep his sticker on!
Yet another wrestling match! They are all boy!
While I was snapping photos, Bob was videoing the match...
Just a smile that I love! Isaac is smiling for the camera more these days!
Towards the end of June, I purchased a new camera...I finally have a digital SLR!! Now, I only need to figure out the best ways to use all of the features! At least I have some excellent subjects on which to practice!
Bob was an excellent sport and let me take probably 100 photos of him the night I opened the camera!
Love the smiles from everyone!
Daddy thought playing 52 card pick-up would be fun...the boys thought it was too, except for the pick-up part!
One of the main reasons I have been wanting a new camera is because I feel like I have been missing memories with my slow old one. One of the memories I have been unable to document is Elliott rolling his eyes. I know I have a video, but I really wanted print documentation and with the new camera, I finally got it! This boy makes me laugh so much!!
The goldfish in the mouth adds a nice touch! Ha!
Proof Isaac is starting to pose...Love it!
A little Guitar Hero with Daddy. Isaac does surprisingly well!
Attacking the bath puppet is a new favorite bath time activity!
