March was the month of very strange weather in Kentucky...a tornado, snow, and lots of sunshine! I actually did not think we would have very many events for the month of March. That was until I looked back to gather blog photos. We were on the move this month!
The month started with a tornado warning on Friday, March 2nd. The University and Creation Kingdom both closed early, so Bob and the boys were waiting on me to leave work. We made it home just in time to hurry to the basement before a funnel cloud was spotted close to the shopping center near us. Fortunately there was no damage around us. Surprisingly, we enjoyed our bonding time in the basement!
Elliott and Isaac comforted themselves with lots of snacks and even danced a bit! |
The very next day, we had our first somewhat substantial snow of the year!

Elliott and Isaac turned 17 months old!
There are a few extra sticker pictures this month. They decided to change locations mid-shoot. I thought their expressions were too cute not to share!
On Wednesday, March 7th, the boys officially transitioned to their next room at daycare. Because of missing so much school for illnesses, they stayed in the Wobbler Room a few extra weeks. Before school, they were not happy about having their photos taken to document the occasion. After school, they were proud members of the Red Room and sat for a quick picture like big boys!
On March 10th, the next weekend after the snow, it was warm enough to play outside. We explored the playground of a nearby elementary school. Isaac and Elliott enjoyed watching the other children play. The also discovered static electricity in the tunnel slide!
The boys passed much of their time in March perfecting their wrestling moves. Elliott has finally discovered his size advantage over Isaac! Isaac still has a secret weapon though...his dagger heels!
You may have heard about some basketball games being played throughout the month of March. Our household likes to wear a certain shade of blue to show our support for those University of Kentucky Wildcats!
On St. Patrick's day, we walked to our small neighborhood park. The boys enjoyed running in the grass and playing on the playground equipment. We enjoyed following the directions on their shirts and gave them lots of extra kisses!
The next day, Sunday the 18th, we traveled to Louisville for a day of visiting. We started our day by having brunch with Meme and the Lanhams at the Bristol. Yum! Then, we walked Meme, Jane, and Rodney to the Center for the Arts where they watched Mary Poppins.
Lynn, Bob, and I had already seen the show, so we went to see Lynn and Greg's house instead! Isaac and Elliott had a blast exploring their house!
After visiting with Lynn and Greg, we moved on to Poppy's house for a visit. We were unprepared for such warm weather, so we had to stop and buy t-shirts first so the boys could enjoy playtime with Poppy and Nina at a park!
We traveled to Cincinnati on Saturday, March 24th to visit Ted, Leigh, Bryce, and Tessa. We had not seen them since our trip to Tennessee in January. I loved being able to go to Tessa's dance class and watch her! She is so full of life and always brings a smile to my face! After dance class, we met back up with the boys and walked to a park to play.
Check out this twin position! |
On Friday, March 30th, Aunt Jen and Aunt Elizabeth stopped by to have supper with us and give the boys their Christmas gifts. We like to celebrate all year long! In honor of their visit, Elliott learned a new trick!
On the last day of the month, the boys and I went to visit Meme in Lebanon so Bob could do yard work without us tempting him to play! We enjoyed more outdoor time and fun with Aunt Donna!
We tried to have a posed picture with everyone in their UK blue. This was the outcome, but I think it is even cuter than a posed shot! |
The tricky boys pretended to eat these rocks, giving Mommy a heart attack each and every time! |
Brotherly bathtub love! |
Whew!
If you made it through this insanely long post... CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I'm tired just reliving all of the fun activities! Now, I can remember why I chose to sleep for so many evenings instead of blogging!
