Over Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend, we traveled to Crossville, Tennessee to have a delayed Jewell Christmas. It was wonderful to see everyone! We had not been together for that long of a time period since well before the twins were born. Actually, maybe before some of the other cousins were born, too! Elliott and Isaac loved spending time with their older cousins! All of the cousins were so good with them! Each family took turns preparing supper for everyone. Our turn was Friday night, so the pictures begin on Saturday.
They were doted on from the moment they woke up Saturday and even had an audience while eating breakfast!
We tried to take a cousin picture. Elliott and Isaac were not most cooperative. When they finally decided to cooperate, my camera had issues and the photo is blurry (of course, it's the camera's fault and not mine!). Actually, I began having issues with my cameras in January. The speed of which they take photos cannot keep up with my speedy boys!
Tessa kept Isaac in line! |
All the kiddos enjoyed opening presents Saturday morning!
Grocery carts from Poppy were a hit! |
Love this policeman's smile! |
Bryce is so patient and kind with the boys! Isaac enjoyed watching him play with his dinosaurs. |
Nap time for kids = Technology time for adults
After nap time was over, several of us went swimming at the resort's indoor pool. It was nice and toasty warm! Perfect for January swimming!
After swimming, Elliott and Isaac took a bath. Bath time was a lot more fun when cousin Zachary decided to join them...fully clothed!
On Sunday, the boys were fed a yummy lunch by their aunts!
After lunch on Sunday, the adults opened gifts. Elliott and Isaac thought that was boring and decided to amuse themselves with something much more entertaining... curtains! They hid from each other and giggled a ton! It was adorable!
Poppy's Christmas tradition: Creating a woodworking piece each year in his own workshop.
This year, he crafted a beautiful bookshelf for each family!
After the adults finished opening gifts, the family traveled to a large tree house, The Treehouse - The Way. The tree house has a very interesting story (Google it!) and is probably the largest in the world. It is supposed to be a spiritual place, but I found it to be a bit creepy. Maybe it was because we went at dusk, maybe because of the gaping holes in the construction (that were very difficult to see both at dusk and with a baby strapped to my chest), or maybe just because of its random decor!
So bummed the only family photo I have is completely blurry! |
After the tree house, the older cousins took a bath in the big bathtub. It was so fun to watch them together and know that one day Elliott and Isaac will be happy to splash with them!
Sunday evening, we had a special family birthday party for Bryce and Tessa! One dinner table was a little more excited about the festivities than the other table!
The adult table was taking too long to eat so a movie helped pass the time before the celebration. |
Happy Birthday to Tessa and Bryce!! |
This boy cracks me up! I think Bryce may need to see a dentist... know anyone, Leigh? ;-) This lovely smile came with one of Bryce's birthday gifts. |
Isaac and Elliott were exhausted after the wonderful weekend with family! They fell asleep within minutes of leaving the condo!
We all enjoyed the precious family time!!
